Xiaomi MI4

Xiaomi on Wednesday announced that the Mi 4 16GB in India will be sold via Flipkart without registration from Thursday. The Chinese company also announced that registrations for the 64GB model of the 2014 flagship Xiaomi Mi 4 have started for the next flash sale on Tuesday.

The company took to its Mi India Facebook and Twitter accounts to make the announcement.
Xiaomi said, "Registration has started! You can register now to buy your Mi 4 64GB at 2pm IST, March 3rd. Tell everyone!! Also, Mi 4 16GB will be available on Flipkart from Feb 26th - No registration required!"

At the time of writing, Flipkart's Mi 4 page hasn't yet started selling the device, but we are expecting it to go live soon.

To recall, the 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 is priced at Rs. 19,999, while the 64GB Mi 4 is priced at Rs. 23,999. The Mi 4 64GB went on sale in its first flash sale earlier this week and it just took less than a minute for the 64GB model to go out of stock. The company however didn't reveal how fast the 16GB variant went out of stock, nor the number of units that were on offer of both variants.
The first flash sale for the 16GB Mi 4 saw 25,000 units go out of stock in 15 seconds, while Xiaomi never provided figures of how many units were up for sale (or how fast they went out of stock) in the second flash sale.

The previous Mi 4 flash sale also saw the company crack down on profiteers, cutting down on the time to buy the phone for those who added the phone to their carts. Users now have only half an hour to complete the purchase, as opposed to 4 hours earlier, which gave people enough time to 'sell' the unit to others for a premium and have it shipped to the buyer directly via Flipkart.
For specifications, the Mi 4 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the company's MIUI 6 skin on top. It features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz; 3GB of RAM; 5-inch full-HD display (1080x1920 pixels); 13-megapixel rear camera; an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3080mAh Li-ion battery.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi India also started selling the budget 4G-enabled Redmi Note 4G via Flipkart without registrations.

Sony Xperia E4G

Sony has quietly launched the 4G-enabled version of its Xperia E4 smartphone, which was launched earlier this month. Dubbed Sony Xperia E4g, the smartphone will also be available in a dual-SIM version as well. The handset has been priced at EUR 129 (roughly Rs. 9,100) and will start reaching markets by April this year.
Based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, the Sony Xperia E4g features a smaller 4.7-inch screen as compared to its 3G version (5-inch) but has the same qHD (540x960 pixel) resolution, and is powered by a slightly more powerful 1.5GHz quad-core processor (unspecified) coupled with 1GB of RAM. It bears the same 8GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card.

Other specifications of the Xperia E4g include 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2300mAh battery that Sony claims provides two days of battery life. The Japanese firm has also included Battery Stamina and Ultra Stamina modes to help.

What is FPS ? Why does it matter ?

While making a video, the most important thing is the Resolution, and the second most important thing is FPS which stands for frames per seconds.

A video can be easily defined by a slideshow of pictures moving at a high speed. You might have noticed the Specification of a Video Camera in which it is written that it makes 30 frames per seconds, actually it tells us that the camera takes 30 pictures in a second and arranges them to make a video for 1 second.

Today, we have Hi-speed Slow Motion Cameras in the market which can make a video upto 10,000 Fps, which is really a high number. Cinematographic equipment normally make videos at 24 frames per second and for a Slow Motion video it is 48 Frames per second.

We all have seen the Tv series like Time warp as we all watch Discovery channel. Their Video Cameras are Specially made for Producing Slow Motion Videos, that's why they run at 10,000 Fps.

For a Android device, like Sony Xperia Z3 it is a very important feature because no other phone in the market comes with 240 Fps video recording capability. With this you can easily play slow motion videos. Smartphones manufacturers are trying to give professional quality features to their phones and in my point of view you must buy a phone after checking out this feature.

Remember that a phone's camera is not like professional SLR's but still you can take some good quality pictures with it.

Here are few tips if you wanna make your self captured snapshots look like the professional ones:

1. Consider having a smartphone which have higher camera resolution i.e. Higher MegaPixels

2. Set the quality of the picture to highest resolution in camera settings.

3. Set the focus mode to touch focus, which will allow you to manually focus any object by simply touching the screen.

4. Select the metering to centre, which will ensure that the focus is on the object.

5. Smartphones do not have optical zoom, they zoom digitally which creates distortion in the image. So, do not take magnified pictures.

6. Set the exposure value until you get your perfect brighness scene.

7. Set ISO value to some high number if taking indoor pictures, while outside set the value to the lowest number possible

That's all you need to do for a perfect SnapShot.

How to reduce the data usage on android smartphone ?

1. Whenever you buy a smartphone it comes with a basic set of pre-installed applications, which in most cases needs update when you log into the playstore.

2. At this moment, all android smartphones (except the ones with android jelly bean and lollipop) comes with an outdated version of playstore which needs to be updated to the latest version, and at this moment you require a good internet connection for this process.

3. Android smartphones require a google account to work properly, when you log into your google account through your phone, it synchronises application data with online servers which consumes mobile data.

4. Android operating system is well known for updates, application and system updates consumes hell lot of Gbs.

5. Most of the android applications come with an unlimited internet usage permissions, which also consumes data services.

6. Restrict the background data usage of applications by going into Settings < data usage < options < restrict background data for all apps.

7. Use a wifi connection to update all the apps, if in any case you don't have wifi support then steals your neighbour's wifi password.

8. Now you are all set for a cut through mobile bills. Enjoy !

My Phone Has Slow Speed !!

Solution:

  • You may have noticed over the past few months that your once speedy android device has slowed down considerably. It takes longer time for simple tasks such as switching between apps or returning home than before.
  • How you use your phone memory plays an important role in this. If your phone's memory is loaded with various applications which are not in use or you are using live applications which keeps on fetching data from internet, then you are keeping your phones's memory as well as battery quite busy.
  • Fortunately, you can regain the lost performance as there are number of steps you can take on your own to do the same.

SMART TIPS:

  • Uninstall or disable unused apps.
  • Clear cache memory.
  • Limit use of widgets and live wallpapers.
  • Get software updates.
  • Check the internal memory space.
  • Use cloud storage to store your pictures.
  • Reset your android phone to factory setting, post taking backup of your data.

How to Increase the Battery Backup of my Android Phone ?

  • Smartphones have big clear displays high resolution, and they can automatically synchronise with your email and social networking services. Also, there are applications and functions that can run in the background that consume power. The more functions you use, the more battery power your smartphone needs. Make sure that you cahrge your smartphone often. You can for example, charge your smartphone when you go to bed at night.
  • It is not possible to suddenly double your android phone's uptime by magically tweaking a few settings, but you should be able to squeeze out a few more hours of battery life without compromising on performance too much if you follow some easy, not too compromising methods of boosting your android phone's battery life.

SMART TIPS FOR BOOSTING UP YOUR ANDROID BATTERY BACKUP:

  • Use Stamina mode to minimise battery consumption.
  • Lower the screen brightness level.
  • Turn off bluetooth, wifi, GPS when not in use.
  • Turn off automatic sync of applications, instead, manually update them.
  • live wallpapers consume more energy. Switch to a static wallpaper.
  • Switch to airplane mode if you know that you won't be near a mobile network for a while.
  • uninstall the applications that you no longer use.
  • Widgets use a lot of data traffic and therfore use a lot of battery. use them conservatively.
